Aluminum Foil for Wrapping Cheese

Cheesemongers agree that cheeses should be wrapped in aluminum foil to allow gasses and moisture to escape. Plastic is not a wise choice for cheese varieties because it seals the cheese in an air-tight environment and does not allow it to breathe.

Packing cheese, especially blue vein cheese, in foil wrap slows the further growth of mold by limiting oxygen and prevents the rind from drying out. It’s important to select a foil that is thin, yet durable enough to withstand the surface rinds of blue cheeses.

All Foils’ premium cheese wrap is designed to extend the shelf of blue vein cheeses. Our cheese wrap has a minimum shelf life of 180 days and can be customized with colors, designs and coatings that meet FDA requirements for indirect food contact.
