AFCMA Welcomes Kibar Americas: A Landmark Win for All Foils
Good news for anyone who sources aluminum foil or foil containers: the Aluminum Foil Container Manufacturers Association (AFCMA) has a new member, and it’s a significant one.
Kibar Americas, the U.S. subsidiary of Assan Alüminyum, has joined AFCMA as its newest supplier member. As a fellow AFCMA member and a Cleveland-area converter since 1980, All Foils sees this as a welcome step for the industry we’ve been part of for over four decades, and we wanted to share why it matters.
Who is Kibar Americas?
Kibar Americas operates an aluminum foil manufacturing facility in Fairmont, West Virginia, producing high-quality aluminum coils for the consumer durables, HVAC, building and construction, distribution and automotive sectors. For the semi-rigid container market specifically, the company offers a broad range of alloys, tempers, gauges, widths and texturants designed to support a wide variety of pan types and customer requirements.
Its parent company, Assan Alüminyum, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of flat-rolled aluminum products, so Kibar Americas brings serious manufacturing depth to a U.S.-based facility.
Why a new AFCMA member is good news for the industry
AFCMA represents manufacturers of aluminum foil containers and the suppliers that serve them, promoting aluminum as the packaging material of choice for retailers, food service and baking operations, packer processors and packaging engineers. Its case for aluminum rests on facts our customers already know well: it’s the only common packaging material that performs across conventional, microwave and toaster ovens, it’s leak-resistant and stackable, and it’s fully recyclable, with roughly one-third of all aluminum in use today already coming from recycled material.
Every supplier that strengthens AFCMA’s membership strengthens the domestic supply chain behind that case. More U.S.-based aluminum coil capacity means more resilience for the converters, container manufacturers and packer processors who depend on a steady, high-quality material supply, and it’s a vote of confidence in the aluminum foil container category as a whole.
